SUMMER ART SCHOOL TO BE HELDAT LAKE Perron Institute Students Will Spend Term at Winona. Students of art will combine ambition with pleasure when they embark for the summer colony at Winona Lake in northern Indiana, conducted by the John Herron Art Institute. This will be the summer school’s second year. The six weeks’ course, under supervision of Miss Edna Mann Shover, Institute principal, will be held from June 22 to Aug. 1. Forsyth Instructor William Forsyth, a leading Indiana artist, will be the instructor in the fine arts department. Students will be privileged to attend Friday afternoon criticisms on landscape composition by Forsyth. Decorative composition and poster work, branch of commercial art, will be under Miss Shover Burling Boaz, Jr., who will also teach showco.rd lettering and outdoor advertising. Stage craft and Interior decoration, will be taught by Oakley Richey. Teaching Course A course in methods of teaching art and lesson planning will be given as training for teaches, carrying credit in Indiana Tjniversity Butler University. Instructors are Hiss Ethelwynn Miller and Miss Hoar. Winona Assembly r rogram will be available at a special rate. Lectures during the course are: "Who Is Responsible for Civic Art?” by Miss Miller, Juno 24; ‘‘Landscape Painting,” by Forsyth, July 1; "Demonstration of Outdoor Advertising," by Boaz, July 8; “Stago Craft,” by Richey, July 15; “Design” by Miss Hoar, July 22; "Modern Landscape Painting'’ bfv Forsyth, July 2ft.
