OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED SITE FOR COLISEUM Mayor and Councilman Say Shortridge Location Is Too Small. Strenuous opposition to locating the proposed municipal coliseum on grounds now occupied by Shortridge High School was indicated today. Mayor Shank and a number of the majority faction of city council believe the site is too small to provide proper facilities for industrial exhibitions along with cnoventions. Site at Washington, Davidson, Pine and Market Sts. would afford ample space, they said, with additional advantage of being located near a railroad line, where exhibits shipped here for industrial shows could be taken directly from the cars to the hail. Objection to favoritism to the street car loop business section of the city also Is voiced about the city hall.
