TROLLEY HURTS GIRL SERIOUSLY Miss Durflinger, County Employe, Struck. Miss Kathryn Durflinger, 20, of 1002 Palmer St., an employe of the county clerk’s office, was seriously injured today en route to work when struck by an in bound Shelby St. car at Shelby and Palmer Sts. Lieutenant Winkler and emergency squad found Miss Durflinger at office of Dr. E. A. Brown, 1002 Virginia Ave., where she had been taken by Francis Ayres, 1501 E Raymond St., who witnessed the accident from his auto. Ayres told police the girl was running across the street td board the car. Dr. Brown said she is suffering from concussion of the brain, body injuries and cuts. She was taken home. The car crew, Charles O’Neil, 53, of 62 Carson St., and Joe Ash 33, of 240 Blake St., conductor, stopped, but did not report the accident to police. O’Neil later was charged with assault and battery. HOPES LAW WILL STAND Judge Collins Approves Municipal Court Statute. Court to force election commissioners to place his name on the primary ballots Judge Collins said that if the law should be declared unconstitutional, Indianapolis would have an extra judge until Jan. 1, and then would go back to "the old reprehensible court system." Two Arrested on Road Allen Pickett, 21. of 678 Birch Ave., and Lawrence Hyatt, 23, of 1362 S. Belmont Ave., were held today on $5,000 bonds each following their arrest 'Wednesday afternoon on National Rd. by Depiity Sheriffs Koffel and Carter on vagrancy charges. Pickett is also charged with violating the muffler ordinance, and Hyatt with carrying concealed weapons.

‘JACKERS’ NOW ARE IN TOWN Young Women Report They Are Stopped, Searched. "Hi jackers” have left their lonely country roads for the more sophisticated and well-lighted boulevards of the city, according to their latest victims. Two women Wednesday night told police they had been stopped and searched for liquor. Miss Jean A1 verts and Miss Alice Carson, both of apartment 78, 614 N. East St., repor l ed they were drlv ing to Indianapolis from Louisville, Ky. Near South St., on Meridian St., a large black touring car, in which three men were riding, forced them to the curb.
One of the three was on the run-ning-board and, according to Miss Alverst, thrust a blue steel gun at her and demanded the kay to the rear compartment, saying, "We want your whisky.” He searched the compartment and gave back the keys. The women could not get the license number because it was upsidedown, they told police.
