BLIND SCHOOL SITE PROPOSED Commission Is Considering McGowan Estate. Negotiations are under way for purchase of from forty-flve to sixty acres of the Hugh J. McGowan estate, Seventy-Fifth St. and College Ave., as a site for the Indiana Blind School, Walter E. Rich, chairman of the school’s removal commission, announced today. The entire property comprises about eighty acres. The commission has available an appropriation of $190,000, but it is understood the necessary portion of the McGowan estate would cost not more than SIOO,OOO. During Governor Branch’s administration the commission chose the Frank Wheeler property, northwest of the city, for which the entire appropriation was asked. Branch vetoed the proposal.
