JACKSON MAKES APPOINTMENTS .Clyde Jones Named on Service Commission. Reappointment of John W. MeCardie as member of the public service commission and appointment of Clyde H. Jones of Dafayette, a Democrat, as a member of the body to succeed Maurice Douglass of Flat Rock have been announced by Governor Jackson. Terms of MsCardle and Jones begin May 1. While McCardle's reappointment had been opposed strenuously in certain quarters, it was not unexpected and the selection of Jones had been predicted. Jones, a native of Crawfordsville, was formerly a law part ner of Jackson. McCardle’s reappointment will make his third term as a member of the public service commission. Previously he had served three ses slons as a member of the State board of tax commissioners. Governor Jackson Wednesday announced the appointment of George W Hershman of Crown Point as a member of the State highway commission to succeed Walter G. %atW of Ft. Wayne, whose term expires Friday.
