ARBITRATION OF FILM DISPUTES IS SUCCESSFUL Men of City Save Big Sum in Lawyer and Court Fees. Anfnt the movement to settle commercial disputes by arbitration rather than by resort to court, Harry J. Bailey, president of the Indianapolis Filin Board of- Trade, and Floyd Brown, vice president, todaypointed to the 1924 record of the Indianapolis joint arbitration board. The board settled thirty-nine disputes between film exchanges and exhibitors involving $11,067.93. Bailey and Brown pointed out that the arbitration board points the way for other lines of business. Such boards are operating successfully in thirty-two cities. In 1924 they settled 11,197 disputes Involving $2,119,622. The board consists of three exchange men and three exhibitors. In case of a tie vote, the six agree upon a seventh man, outside the movie business, to east the deciding vote. It never has been necessary to call In the seventh man in Indianapolis. Bawyer and court fees saved through arbitration amount to thousands of dollars, the film men say. The industry benefits through elimination of bad feeling resulting from resort to law. Bahzcil Expected Back B Federal Judge Robert C. Baltzell, *-ho has been in Milwaukee, Wis.. since Sunday, where he tried a criminal case in Federal Court, was expected to return to Indianapolis today.
