LIBRARY HELP OFFERED FOR ESSAY CONTEST List of Books and Pamphlets Compiled for High School Students. Indianapolis Public Library came forward today to help high school boys and girls competing in The Indianapolis Times Industrial Etesay Contest. A list of books, pamphlets and magazine articles available at the Central Library was compiled, and librarians at the business branch, in the school board office building, Meridian and Ohio Sts., announced they had a file of materials on Indianapo lis industries. The title of the contest is: ‘‘Why Industries Should Come to Indian apolis.” Closes April 15 Any regular student of any Indianapolis high school is eligible. First prize is sls; second, $10; third, $5. Essays must be delivered or mailed to The Indianapolis Times Industrial Essay Contest Editor by midnight, April 15. This list of material, which may be obtaine at the Central Library, was prepared by Miss Mary Dyer Lemon. Glad to Assist Librarians will be glad to assist the essay writers in finding these materials. Essays are not to be more than 200 words long. They must be written in ink or by typewriter, on one side of the paper. The bureau of industry of the Chamber of Commerce, 509 Chamber of Commerce Bldg., also is dis tributing pamphlets about Indianapolis, on request. ARSON CHARGE FILED Grand Jury Returns Indictment Against Vernice Schilling Vernice Schilling, 368 Grant Ave., was indicted today by the Marion County grand jury on a charge of arson. He is alleged to have set fire to the home of John J. Clancy, 2423 N. New Jersey St., Nov. 12, 1924, causing $3,000 loss. Columbus and Ben Stone and Ida Munday all of West Newton, and Mary Kepley, 4428 E. Michigan St., were indicted oil charge of failure to support parertt. Similar charge was filed against Joseph Cobert, 1255 Congress Ave. Lester Halstead wa charged with auto banditry, robbery and grand larceny. John Gardner, with unlawful possession of a still, and George Cain, with rape. Seventeeen indictments were returned. Double Dose on Appeal An appeal from city court on charge of operating a blind tiger resulted today in John Whitney, 623 W. Vermont St., having his fine and sentence doubled by Criminal Judge James A. Collins. He was sentenced to sixty days on the Indiana State Farm and fined S2OO and costs.
