April 3.—The five passenger steamers ot the American Oriental Mail Tine, operated for the United States Shipping Board by the Admiral Oriental Line, have just been refitted and redecorated after four years of service. This work has been done at intervals between winter sailings, and the last of the ships to be gone over, the President Madison, sailed from Seattle this month for the Far East. Other vessels in the fleet are the President Grant, President Jackson, President Jefferson and Prsident McKinley. “With the installation of considerable new equipment, ‘'said T. J.
