KEUM WOULD Increase bonded DEBT $2,500,000 Mayor Lew Says No Owner of Property Has Offered Site, Bonded indebtedness of Indianapolis will be increased to about 19,484,390 and the bonded indebtedness margin on Jan. 1, 1926 reduced to approximately $3,243,000 if Mayor Shank’s coliseum idea is carried out this year, according to his ideas. Shank said he believed about $2,600,000 should be spent for the coliseum, $500,000 for the ground and the balance for the building, lie said that despite the fact he has been urging the plan for' three months no property owner or real estate owner has come to the board of works with a definite proposition on a desirable piece of ground. The city’s bonded iridebtedness now is $7,406 880; Joseph L. Hogue, city controller, said. Tho limit is $12,738,882. The coliseum project would bring up the bonded indebtedness to $9,906,880, but by Jan. 1, $421,610 in bonds will be retired, which will decrease the total indebtedness by that amount. Interest payment of bonds Jan. 1 would amount to approximately $427,000 annually, based on interest rates of the bonds, if the coliseum project goes through. It Is believed the interest payments will be reduced by the refunding of $1,600,000 in War Memorial Plaza bonds next year. These bonds were let for a five-year period in tHe Inflation period, following the World War, and draw 6 per cent interest. Hogue said under present conditions the rate probably would not be over 4 per cent. STORES AND OIL STATIONSROBBED Four Bandits Suspected in Two Holdups Sunday, Stores and filling stations bore the brunt of the crime wav 3 over the week-end, police reports showed to day. While one colored man stood as a look oat, three others held up John Wnox, proprietor of the Knox Twenty-Fourth St. and College Ave., Sunday night and escaped with a small amount of money. Police believe the same four held np Nels L. Eruckson, attendant at a filling station at Sixteenth and New Jersey Sts., and took $25. Three colored bandits forced John Mußreoity, 158,7 Sh.-ldon St.; William Cur r an, if,l3 E. St., clerks in Standard grocery. 2257 folumbia Ave., and four customer'., to face a wall Saturday ’’’’ey took s2l from Curran and yA a belonging to the grocery. County Association Plans to Aid Weak Children, ' Establishment of a nutrition camp Mor undernourished children of In■ianapclls is being planned by ofHcera of the Marion County Tuber■tuloslg Association. The camp may K>e established this summer. A Indorsement of the camp proposal Jin the recently announced survey of | tuberculosis conditions made in be half of the association and the Indianapolis board of health has added impetus to the movement. The camp would r.ot receive chi) dren from homes where adequate nutrition Is provided, but would provide care for the boy or girl who Is poorly developed physically. Home conditions would be investigated, so that causes of under nourishment could be remedied. Ultimately the camp would become permanent, with buildings, medical supervision and fulltime teachers. Two years ago a camp was established, with the Family Welfare Society at the old summer mission near Fairview Park.
