POSTPONEMENT IN TELEPHONE TRIAL Juror 111, Court Adjourns Case to Monday, Flu Timm fiv trial FRANKLIN, Ind., March 27. Illness of a juror—J. \V. Judah, Franklin hotel proprietor resulted today In the postponement of the trial of the State’s suit to annul (he charter of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company, to Monday morning. Judah was suffering from quinzy, resulting from a cold receive*! when other jurors threw open windows in tne jury room, where they were forced to sit for four hours Wednesday while attorneys argued over admission of evidence. Defense attorneys today indicated they would take all Monday and part of Tuesday to present their case. The State rested late Thursday. More Than 100 Baptised F. F. Bosworth, evangelist, baptized more than 100 persons Thursday night at the special baptismal service at the Cadle Tabernacle. About 5,000 persons attended. F. W. Banister directed the shop service at the Lewis Meier and Company plant today. Meetings will end Monday nicht.

‘HOUSE BABY’ IMPROVED Congressman McLeod Suffers Injuries in Plum Crash. fin Unitet' Prm UNIONTOWN, Pa., March 27. Congressman Clarence J. McLeod, 29, Detroit, Mich., who was injured in airplane accident here late yesterday was reported "resting comfortably” today. McLeod, known as the "house baby" was flying from Selfridge Field. Mich., to Washington, when his plane developed engine trouble, Lieut. R. J. Minty, pilot, made a forced landing. In the take off thole nding gear caught in a tree. It crashed to the ground and somersaulted down a grade. McLeon was taken from the wreckage unconscious. \ Lieutenant Minty was uninjured. BOY BY AUTO Taken to Hospital After Accident —With ractured Ijeg. • William Pierce, 14, of 291 N. New Jersey St., Is in City Hospital with a fractured left leg, the result of being struck, police say, by an auto driven by Mrs. Paul Ragan, 39, of 33 W. Forty-Second St. Mrs. Ragan told police she was driving south on Delaware St., when the Pierce boy, playing with anotner boy ran from between two parked autos. The bumper knocked hjim to the pavement. Mrs. Ragan was charged with assault and battery.

Twenty-Ninth* St., is under arrest (oday following his capture late on Thursday in the home of- C. C. Puckett, 3310 Broadway. l Police, headed by Lieutenant O. D. Thomas, were t illed by Mrs. I. J. Crttchfield, 3309 Broadway, who Bald she noticed the man at the door of the Puckett home and then saw him enter. Police found that entrance had been gained by breaking a panel of glass and then unlocking the door. /Kntlre bouse was ransacked and Ambrose was found hiding behind a chimney in the attic; Detectives will question him in regard to several north side burglaries recently. Auto belonging to Ambrose was found parked near Puckett’s home. Police say Ambrose has been arrested several times and was once held for burglary. SAYS HE WASN’T DRUNK Man Claims Nervousness From Shell Shock. When officers testified Raymond Hixon, 1618 Prospect St., was drunk when they arrested him, and Hixon denied it, saying he was nervous due to shell shock while in service overseas, Special Criminal Judge H. B. Pike Thursday afternoon ordered Htxon to be examined to determine his physical condition. Hixon appealed from city court. whe~e he was fined $1 and costs on charges of driving under the influence of liquor and drunkenness, and given a thir-ty-day Jail sentence.
