GRAVELANDSTONE ROADS OF INDIANA IN SPLENDID SHAPE Intensive Maintenance Work Produces Results; Flood's Damage Is Slight, As ft result of intensive maintenance work In the last few - days, greater mileage of gravel and stone roads in the State highway system is in splendid shape, according to announcement of the State highway commission. Roads of central, southern, eastern and western Indiana are now free of frost and only In a few places wet, chiefly because of recent inundations from swollen streams. Northern T ndiana roads in most cases are in condition to handle all kinds of traffic. Surface condition of roads entering Indianapolis: No. 1 I New Albany, Indianapolis. South Bend. Michigan line)—Pavement from Franklin via Indianapolis to Peru. Drive carefully at new bridge fill seven miles north of Kokomo. At Seymour turn right at corner of Tipton and O’Brien Sts. following marked detour via Chestnut Ridge to No. 1 at seven miles north of Crothersville. Parts of detour alternate from soft to rough. No. fl (Madison, Greensburg. Indianapolis. Lafayette. Oxford)—Pavement from Indianapolis to Shelbyvllle with thirteen-mile detour around two bridge projects. Shelbyvllle-Indianapolis traffic can route via county road at Shelbyvllle to Fountalntown, thence to Indianapolis on 3P. Use pavement from Indianapolis to one mile north of Lebanon, thence use marked detour to west via Thortnown and Corfax returning to pavement opposite Colfax.
