TRUCKS ADVSIED 10 remain OFF ' NORTHERN ROADS Tornado Interferes With Traffic on Southern Highways, Portion of several gravel and stone roads in the north half of Indiana are soft and likely will continue so for a week or ten days, during which period heavy trucks are asked to stay off of them, John D. Williams, director of the Indiana highway commission, pointed out today.' Roads in southern Indiana were in excellent condition belore Wednesday’s cyclone. Surface conditions of roads entering Indianapolis are set forth in the bulletin as follows: Warning Is Given No. 1 (New Albany. Indianapolis, South Bend, Michigan line) —Pavement Irom Franklin via Indianapolis to Peru. Exercise care at new bridge fill seven miles north ol Kokomo. At Seymour turn right at corner of Tipton and O'Brien streets following marked detour via Chestnut Ridge to No. 1 at seven miles north ot Crothersvllle. Parte of detour alternate from soft to rough. No. 6 (Madison. Greensburg. Indianapolis, Lafayette, Oxford) —Pavement • Irom Indlanaapolls to Shelbyville with detours around two bridge projects. Because one of these detours is very bad, new detour thirteen miles long past both projects has been marked. Slxelbyville-Indianapolis traf- , ftc advised to take county road at SbelbyI ville to Fountaintown, thence to Indianapolis on 39.
