FATHER SEES WINDS WHISK SON TO DEATH Three Separate Twisters Joined Forces to Wreak Destruction on Princeton, Says Newspaper Man.

Bv United Press PRINCETON, Ind., March 19. Three separate twisters apparently joined forces just before the tornado which killed twenty persons struck here late Wednesday, according to Paul Ellis, a Princeton newspaper man. Ellis raid one twister approached from the southeast, one from the west and a third from the northwest. The full force of the tornado DEATH OF AUTO VICTIM IS PROBED Mrs, Minnie Downey Struck Crossing Street, Coroner Paul F. Robinson today investigated death of Mrs. Minnie Downey, 79, of 709% Ft. Wayne Ave., fatally injured when struck by auto Wednesday night at 805 N. Alabama St. Robinson ordered charges of manslaughter placed against Sam Runyan, 41, of 2135 Central Ave., driver of the auto. Mrs. Downey was crossing the street to visit her daughter Mrs. Burt ,n Driscoll, 822 N. Alabama St., when struck. She was taken to the Methodist Hospital yhere she died two hours later. Runyan, according to Lieutenant Thomas, said he was not driving fast and that he did not see Mrs. Downey until he was within twenty feet of her. Another man stepped out of his auto as he saw the storm approach ing and the auto was blown away. He has not found any trace of the machine. A sliver of glass from a broken windowpane cut one woman's throat from ear to ear. Bodies of some of the workmen removed from the .Southern Railroad shops and the Heinz canning factory were badly mangled, while the bodies of other vict ms bore few marks. PHYSICIANS OFFER HELP State Medical Association Ready to Send Doctors to Storm Area. Members of the medical profession in other parts of the State are ready to help their conferee in southern Indiana, if any shortage of physicians exists in the storm district. Dr. E. M. DAILEY M’COY IS SLATED Expected to Be Confirmed as Robinson’s Successor. Appointment of Dailey E. McCoy of Versailles, secretary of the State Republican committee and Governor Jackson’s campaign manager, as secretary of the State purchasing board, was expected to be confirmed at a meeting of the board today. McCoy would replace Fred B. Robinson, present secretary.

Eight Dead in Fire Following Storm Hu Times Hveeiol EVANSVILLE, Ind., March 39. —One of the most horrifying incidents of the storm which leveled Griffin Wednesday afternoon was the burning to death of eight persons in a restaurant of Mrs. Laura Kokomore. The identified dead: Thomas Nottingham, 19. Mrs. Kokomore and her daughter Mary Lou, 16; Auburn Sand. * , 19; Clarence Corby, 31. Winds demolished the building and fire broke out from the stove. Thomas Nottingham burned to death before the eyes of his father, Harry Nottingham, powerless to help him.
