The tax to be collected immediately by township assessors Is $1 for males, $3 for females and 92 for each additional dog. Cpunty commissioners Thursday fixed the rate at $1 for a male, $2 for a female and >3 for eaxsh additional. Reason for the reduction was that the county collected $32,000 in dog taxes in 1924 and only paid out $73 for livestock and fowls killed by dogs. FEDERAL INQUIRY ASKED Senator Reed Offers Resolution for Farm Machinery Inquiry. BV United Preu WASHINGTON. March 13. A resolution asking for investigation of manufacturers of farm implements by the Federal Trade Commission to ascertain if unlawful trade discriminations exist, was introduced in the Senate today by Senator Reed, Missouri. Democrat. Reed’s resolution charges that farm implements manufactured in the United gtates are sold in foreign countries at lower prices than murf he paid by American farmers.

Present police headquarters now is Inadequate to meet demands, and to place an additional court in, the roll call room would result in further congestion. Shank Is in favor of building f* municipal coliseum with room for the courtrooms. CHICAGO FIGHTING DISEASE INCREASE - 1 - 1 ( Police and Firemen Battle Epidemic—279 Deaths Bu United Prtte CHICAGO, March 13.—Business men, police, the fire department and all physicians today were called upon by Health Commissioner Bundesen to aid in stamping out the influenza-like disease which has caused twentyeight deaths in the thirteen hours ended at 10 p. m. Thursday. There have been 279 deaths since March 1. Ninety new cases of the diseases Were reported last night. Police have been asked to enforce the antl-epltting order issued by the health department. Firemen have been asked to flush the streets. “We have not had a rain in some time and we fear the spread of germs deposited by expectoration," the commissioner said. Physicians have been asked to help watch the situation and to order to bed any persons giving signs of the disease. ASSEMBLY COSTS FILED Legislature Expenses So Far Total 196,044. Expenses of the 1925 Legislature to date total $96,044, exclusive of printing coeta, according to computations made in the State auditor’s office. Two years ago the total ex-, penses were $101,164. Gaylord Morton, attache in the office, said the 1925 expenses might be greater than those of 1923 when all figures are submitted.
