PINK PETITIONS FOR MANAGER ARE READY FOR CITY Movement, Backed by Civic and Luncheon Clubs Well Under Way. With discussion ‘of the proposal 'or an election for a city manager iTOvernment for Indianapolis by various civic and luncheon clubs, the movement was under way today. *Pink petitions have been printed and are ready for distribution as soon as organization is perfected. Likening Indianapolis, with assessed valuation at $638,000,000, to a great industry. Winfield Miller, attorney. Monday told the Service Club luncheon at the Lincblr., the need for a competent head with more than four years to show his Ability to conduct the affairs of the city on a business-like basis. Republican, that they will walk out If Senate Bill 300 Is called up for third readltu;. The bill would gerrymander Lawrence County, normally Republican. from the normally Democratic Third Congressional District to the normally “fifty-fifty” Second District. This would make the Second district "safely” Republican without harming Republicans in the Third district.
