OPTICAL COMPANY EXPANDS ROOMS ANDJAPACITY Business of Hoosier Firm Steadily Increases in Scope, After eight and one-half years at the same location, 148 N. Illinois Bt., the Hoosier Optical Company recently was compelled to expand and occupy double the space its store, workshop and laboratory occupied. This added space was made necessary by the steadily increasing business of the company, which conducts a complete service for supplying optical goods and performs lens grinding and'other service for other oeculists and optometrists. A customer entering the store of the Hoosier Optical Company, which is located on the ground floor of the building at 148 N. Illinois St., is escorted into a private room, where a thorough examination of the eyes Is made. The “shadow test” is used in the examination, augmented and verified by two additional forms of eye testing. By means of this method of examination the company is able to make a thorough examination and prescribe correct lenses for a person who does not speak English or for a child who cannot explain its eye troubles. After the examination, so completely equipped is the Hoosier Optical Company, a lense caji be ground and finished in two hours’ time. BANKERS* ISSOESBOOKLET Contains Thrift Message to Parents, In line with its policy of serving its patrons with definite savings programs, the Bankers Trust Company has just issued anew booklet that carries an interesting message for parents of children who will face the problem of a college education Home years in the future. The booklet is entitled, “Will your child go to college?” At the outset of the document the money value of an education is stressed. It is shown that money invested in an education pays enormous dividends. It warns against procrastination, which robs many a child of a deserved education, and shows that every day spent in high school Is wprth $25 to a pupil, and that every day spent In college Is worth $55.55 to each student in later life. An interesting page is included in the booklet which shows what becomes of the nation's school children, but two-thirds go through life handicapped by onlv elementary schooling or less, that twenty out of each 100 are only slightly better off with partial high school training.
