DEFENSE PROBE HITSJpiN Army and Navy Fought, Du United, Press WASHINGTON, Feb. 20.—The House aircraft investigation, which has provided the main sensation at the capitol this session, may come to an end with the adjournment of Congress March 4. Just as the inquiry is tecomlng fruitful and facts about the state of national defense are being fared, opposition has cropped up in tne House to acting-on the resolution authorizing the investigation to continue throughout the summer, members say. Two reasons are advanced for this: 1. Departmental objections may have been made. 2. Development of the inquiry into a. major probe of the national defense would play into the hands of independents and give them campaign ammunition for 1926. Truck Crop Value Nineteen truck crops produced in this country in 1924 for table use, canning and manufacture had a gross value of $313,000,000. Although $12,000,000 less than 1923, this is much higher than 1922 and 1921 crops.
