OBSTACLES ROUSE PITTENGER’S IRE ‘Outside Interests' Blamed In Unit Fund Fight, Representative. Lemuel A. Pittenger, Selma, today charged "selfish outside interests" desirous of wrecking the Governor’s financial system for the State were instrumental in the attempt to block the unit fund bill, which after passing the House, struck a stumbling block in the Senate on the question of whether the measure would invalidate the gasoline tax levy. Pittenger declared that the unit fund bill would not invalidate the gasoline tax law nor any part of it and that both Attorney General GilIlom and the State Board of Accounts has given their approval of the bill. The Senate Finance Committee and administration leaders met with Senator Barker, caucus chaJrrr an, upon adjournment of the Senate at 31:30 a. m. today to consider the measure. It was a special* order of business In t’je Senate at 3 p. m. todgy. Republican Senators caucused this morning to consider the Pittenger appropriation bill. It was said, following the Senate caucus, that, although additional appropriation asked for buildings at the Indiana State Reformatory might be allowed, control of building operations might be taken out of the hands of the present trustees and
