GETTING JOB ON FORCEISIH (Continued From Page 1) sitting down now and going over hie work at his desk. “How about the traffic squad?” “Mrump.” I retreated with the application. I perused the questions. President Coolidge would make a good candidate for the force evidently, since he has been using his mechanical dobbin for exercise, for one question is: “Can you ride a horse?” This is The Prince of Wales wouldn’t have a chance. Another question that calls forth an ouch —"Do you owe for borrowed money? In what amount?” Another twinge—“ Have you ever had rheumatism?” "Have you ever had a fit of any kind?” Easy to answer. Yes, I’ve owned one tailor-made suit of clothes. “Were you ever In the United States service? What branch?" Faithful Times readers will know I Joined both the Army and the Navy—almost in an afternoon. ‘ Then there is a tough question. "What la your politics?” And then I learned I had to be „ at least five feet ten in height, not over 35, and must have been a resident of Indianapolis not less 1 than five years. Next, five good citizens must swear that they have known me intimately for several years and that they never have seen me drunk, nor known or heard of me being drunk, nor having been guilty of or arrested for any criminal or disorderly conduct. I ask you what chance Ims a guy to Join and tell the truth.
