RAINBOW ACADEMY GIVES CULTURAL BEAUTYTRAINING Girls From Many Walks of Life Given Actual Profession! Beauty and culture are so closely related in the Rainbow Academy of Beauty Culture, second floor of the Stewart Bldg., that the girls studying there are dally taught, not only to beautify their customers, but to improve their own minds and add much to their fund of education. “Girls come to us from every walk of life and from every part of the country,” said Mrs. Vivian Norton, head of the school./ “We never let our girls get entirely out of touch with us,” she said further. “Once a Rainbow girls, always a Rainbow girl.” No girl leaves the school, after receiving her diploma without a position assured and the amount of money she will earn in mind. Girls come back to Mrs. Norton many times, she said, wishing to lochte in other towns. One girl who recently completed her course here went directly back to her home town In Georgia and in less than six months has become the leading marcel operator in the town. There are three classes, the beginner, the advanced class and the professional group. In the beginners’ class a free clinlo is conducted, which was built up by Mrs. Norton by personal invitation. Two mornings a week are eiven over to lectures on theory and demonstrations by the five instructors. Then, under guidance of an Instructor, the student is taught to put theory into practice on living subjects. In the advanced classes half the regular charge Is made for services and onehalf of this is given to the students. In the professional class the threefourths is charged and the regular commission on this Is paid to the student. The course Includes study In sanitation, sterilization, physiology and hygiene as well as a cultural course which enables the girls to discuss their work and system with intelligence and authority. “We feel that we are giving girls
