TWO NEW BRIDGES OPENED ON ROAD TO MARTINSVILLE One Detour and Run-Around Left on Recently Paved Highway, Completion of two bridges on the new pavement of road No. 22 between Indianapolis and Martinsville has resulted in lifting one runaround and one detour in the last few days, traffic bulletin us the State highway commission issued today by John D. Williams, director, announced. But one detour and one run-around remain between the two cities, Williams said. The detour is 'around bridge construction two miles south of Glenn Valley, and the run-around at bridge construction over Clear Creek, about four miles north of Martinsville. Surface conditions, affecting Indianapolis: No. 1 (New Albany. Indianapolis. South Bend. Michigan line) —Pavement from Indianapolis to Peru. Detour seven miles north ot Kokomo account of refloormg a bridge. South of Indianapolis turn right at comer of Tipton and O’Brien Sts.. Seymour; follow marked detour via Chestnut Ridge, coming out on State Road 1 at seven mlies north of Crothersville. Parts of this detour are rough. No. 8 (Madison. Greensburg. Indianapolis. Lafayette, Oxford)—Pavement between New Bethel and Shelbyville with two short detours marked around bridge construction. Northwest of Indianapolis use pavement to 3.7 miles north of Lebanon, thence on short detour back to pavement. Detour six miles north of Lebanon to west through Thorn town returning to No. 6 at three miles north of Thom town. Short detour to east four miles north of Thorntown. To avoid detours on No. 6 use 44 and 28 or 33- and 32 from Lebanon to Lafayette. No. 12 (Vincennes. Spencer. Martinsvile. Indianapolis)—Drive slowly because of trading new fill at Fish Creek four miles south of Freedom. Nt. 22 (English. Paoli. Mitchell, Bedford. Bloomington, Martinsville. Indianapolis)—Pavement between Indianapolis and Martinsville being used by traffic using one detour and one run-around. Between Paoli and English are seventeen miles of dirt road Impassable to autos at this time. Avoid road south of Grantsburg account of construction.
