REHEARING PETITIONED Caamel Renews Fight to Force Tra©- , tion Cars to Stop. Carmel, Ind., has petitioned the public service commission for rehearing of the case in which the Union Traction Company was successful in having the commission declare void a town ordinance of the town of Carmel which demanded that certain cars stop there. Petition charged that the commission had no Jurisdiction, that the decision is contrary to law, and that evidence was not sustained. Feb. s.—The plan commission has launched a movement to remove the Nickel Plate Railroad ucks which run through the business district. Rerouting of all railroads and interurbans entering the city is proposed. An effort was made several years ago to move thfe Nickel Plate tracks, then the Lake Erie & Western, when the railroad station at Jackson and Buckeye Sts., burned. When the railroad built a handsome new station the movement; was dropped.

WARNING SENT 10 HOSPITALS WITH WASHBURN DEATH Coroner Orders All to* Cooperate With Police — Burns Bound Over, Coroner Paul F. Robinson today, in a letter to all hospitals, ordered them to cooperate more closely with police in cases where deaths are liable to be followed with murder or manslaughter charges. This followed investigation of fatal shooting of Nathan T. Washburn, 59, of 3236 N. Capitol Ave., president of the Model Laundry, Liberty and Ohio Sts., Tuesday. William H. Bums, 38, of 3207 Duke St., foreman at the laundry, who is alleged to have shot Washbum and three other men, was bound over to the grand jury on a murder charge, after he had waived examination in bity court. Washburn died at Deaconess Hospital late Wednesday night. Hospital Attaches Called Coroner Robinson summoned E. H. Perry, Deaconness superintendent: Miss Dess Barnett, clerk, and Miss Elsie Williams, 529 E. Twen-ty-First St., on complaint of Police Lieutenant Claude Johnson, that he had been denied entrance to the surgery room, where Washburn had been taken, and had difficulty in learning that the wounded man had been taken there. Miss Barnett and M!sa Williams both said that civilians, posing as police, had attempted to obtain Information from the hospital, and that they were obeying orders given to them that no information 6hould be given out to unauthorized persons. Others Recovering Isaac Taylor, 66, of 3841 N. New Jersey. St., vice president; H. J. Newkirk, 33, of 2950 McPherson Ave., and Alfred Stallings, 42, of Stubbins Hotel, both employes, are still suffering from bullet wounds alleged to have been inflicted by Burns in the melee. Mr. Washburn is survived by a son, Nathan Washburn Jr.; Mrs. Max Wall of Shaw, Miss., a daughter; Mrs. Martha Washburn, his mother; three sisters, Miss Gertrude Washburn, Mrs. James Fey and Mrs. Emma Gent, and a brother, William Washburn, Mr. Washburn, who had lived in Indianapolis for thirty years, was a member of the Ancient Landmark Lodge, No. 369; Scottish Rite and Keystone Chapter of the Masonic I©dge and of the Chamber of Commerce.
