DRIVER HELD IN WOIK DEATH Witnesses Exonerate Raymond Scott, Coroner Paul F. Robinson today began a detailed Investigation of an accident on Lafayette Pike, near 4£essler Blvd., Tuesday night that resulted in fatal injuries to Miss Hattie Rabourn, 78, R. R. Al, Box 216, who was struck by an auto driven by Raymond Scott, 31, of 501 Wisconsin St. Miss Rabourn died a few hours laier at the -"Methodist Hospital. Scott was charged with manslaughter and released on his own recognizance. Witnesses and Scott told police Miss Rabourn stepped from behind a north-bound truck directly in the path of the south-bound Scott auto, traveling about twenty miles an hour. Scott and Oliver Smith, R. R. A., Box 202, driver of the truck, carried Miss Rabourn into her home near by. Fred Johnson, 36, of 511 Smith Lane, struck by an auto driven by Sherman Meyers, 30, of 1515 Harlan St., at South and New Jersey Sts., was taken home with a badly injured right leg. Meyers was charged with assault and battery and driving on the left side of the street. Funeral services for Miss Rabourn

NOTEDMUST Chicago Authorities Seek to Identify Killer, Bv United Press WHEATON, 111., Feb. 4.—When the noose tightens around the neck of John Kammerer, Villa Park (111.) ax slayer, sentered to die on the scaffold Feb. 13, Chicago authorities will seek to identify him as Jeap Crones. Crones, anarchist fanatic, poisoned the soup at a banquet in Chicago in 1916 held in honor of Cardinal Mundelein, then archbishop. All of the 100 guests, including the archbishop and Dr. John B. Murphy, world famous surgeon, now dead, were taken violently ill. Five of the banqueters died within a few months after Crones poisoned soup at the Mundelein banquet, although their deaths were not attributed to poison. Kammerer is now in jail here awaiting the capital punishment for murdering a family of five at Villa Park last summer. FUNERAL HOUR SET Veteran Printer Who Dropped Dead to Be Buried Thursday. Funeral services for Frank Beadle, 65, of 154 W. Pratt St., veteran printer, who dropped dead at the office of the Sentinel Printing Company, 128 W.
