CONTEST JUDGES NAMED Prizes for Social Welfare Ideas Total 5100. Arthur V. Brown, Sol Schlose, Alfred O. Kauffman, Howard E. Jenson and Leonard V. Harrison have been named judges in the “progress contest,” conducted by the Community Fund. Hugh McK. Landon, chairman of a committee arranging the fifth annual dinner Feb. 23, announced prizes totaling SIOO will be awarded winners in the contest, for best plan for promoting social welfare of the city. Manuscripts of less' than 1,000 words should be submitted to Community Fund headquarters at Chamber of Commerce before Feb. 18. LIQUOR SEIZQD IN RAIDS W T eek-End Arrests on Various Charges Total 178. In raids netting liquor ranging from less than a half-pint to ten gallans, police arrested fifteen persons on blind tiger charges over the week end, slates showed today. Total arrests for that period totaled 167 men and eleven women. Forty-three were on charges involving automobiles. Thirty-three persons were charged with vagrancy, eleven with gambling and nine men and three women with assault and battery.
