I OLA PHILLIPS By NBA Service G "-IRANI) RAPIDS, Mich., Dec. 26. —Courted and won by a "cave-man," lola Phillips didn’t decide she really loved him until after he and a pal dragged her Into a stolen automobile and whisked her away to their woodland rendezvous. But the romance was short, for after two weeks police found her in a lonely shack in the wilds of Newaygo County. They arrested her two companions and returned 17-year-old lola to her parents for the proverbial spanking. When the officers arrived Tola was keeping house. Her two companions were out hunting food. A big dog was her sole companion. She had suffered severely from the cold. Her clothing was dirty and her hair disheveled. lola admits she wanted to escape the attentions of other ardent admirers and when Russell Thompson, 18, one of the youths with whom she fled, told her he was a "cave-man,” she couldn’t resist any longer. "But I’ve learned a lesson about ‘cave-men.’ ” she says. “I think cake-eaters and bun-dusters will do for me In the future.”
