FIGHT EXPECTED OUT£ JOHNSON Ban Not Easily Whipped, Friends Declare, fin Times Special CHICAGO. Dec. 19. —Ban Johnson. president of the American League. who has been fastened in a straight-jacket by a resolution of the owners of his own organization, is said to be about ready to break loose again with a volume of noise that will make his last outburst seem a whisper. Johnson has risen to his present power in baseball by reason of his ability to take a punch and to deliver a better one, and this fact came crashing into the brains of the baseball magnates late Thursday after consoling themselves with the reflection that "Ban is off somewhere lienning his resignation.” Students of baseball are certain the battle is not yet over. If Johnson would resign it would bring sweetness and happiness to his enemies, and it is pointed out that Johnson is made of firmer stuff. By COACH J. CRAIG RUBY Illinois. Big Ten Team mN this play it I*= taken forgranted the opposing team has formed a five-man defense with the primary line just back of the center of the floor while the offensive guard is taking the ball out-of-bounds. The two forwards go to the seventeen-foot line at either of th" side-lines as shown. Th center and second guard stay at the cen ter of the floor. The guard out-of-bounds makes the original pass to his guard teammate, who in turn parses to the center. This pass Is made in order to delay the attack long enough to get the guard who was out-of-bounds started down the right sideline and to attract attention at the center of the floor. The center then passes to the left forward who meets the hall, the right forward coming to the left m ie ~f the floor, clearing the right side of defensive men. The left forward may then pas to the center as Illustrated, who may pass to th* guard who originally passed the ball in from out-of-bounds.
