TROLLEY DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER STRIKING AUTO Police Alleged Street Car Brakes Was Cause of j Crash, John Whitcomb. *4. of 102" Division St., motorman on a. coal sup ply car of the Indianapolis Street Railway, was under arrest today, charged with assault and battery ?nd failure to have brakes, police said a test showed they were unable to stop the car in less than 1120 feet, and was a half-block from an automobile that the car struck. Flonzaley Quartet
The Flonzaley quartette, now in its twenty-first season, made its annual appearance at the Academy of Music Sunday afternoon under the direction of the Indianapolis Maennerchor. The quartette this season is composed of Adolfo Betti, first violin; Felicien d' Archambeau, viola; Alfred Pochon, second violin and Ivan d’ Archambeau, violin cello. The tw r o high spots of the concert were "Death and the Maiden from Schubert's "Quartette in IJ minor,” and "The Pixy-Ring," a fairy miniature suite by Waldo Warner. The Warner suite was one of the most delightful of the programmed numbers. Brahms “Quartette in C minor. Op. 51, No. J,” opened the program. The encores were “Irish Cradle Song" ami Tsehaikowsky’s "Andante cantcbille.” In comparison to all the other string quartettes we have heard, this erne still* remains in the lead.
