By RICHARD F. GRANT President Chamber of Commerce of The United Spates SHE business outlook Is distinctly encouraging. The business man ran row go ahead with the assurance the country Is sound at heart and is going to stand by our long-tried fundamental principles. This will reflect itself in all lines of trade and particularly in our basic commodities. We may confidently expect increasing volume In all these lines and a year of unquestioned prosperity in 1925. Golfer
George Duncan has come from England to show American golfers how to go around 18 holes without cursing a single curse. In the rough or out of it. George never sat on a broncho or swallowed a grain of alkali dust in his life. in 1924 are having their effect. The index number of all wholesale prices has changed but little during the year, but prices for many commodities that have been depresses have moved upward and prices of some other grotips that were w r ell above the general level have shown appreciable declines. The result is stimulating to general consumption, and the stimulus to consumption is working back to producers. In so large a country with such a diversity of businesses as the United States conditions are never quite uniform throughout. There will always be dark spots with pressing problems. When improvement is widely recorded, however, and the fundamentals underlying the business structure, like finance and transportation services, are sound and in a condition to lend ready support. we can look for business developments of a satisfactory sort.
