CHURCH SESSIONS TOCLOSETODAY Bryan Urges Fight on Suicide at Conference, By United Prese CHICAGO, Dec. 11. — Trials of present day religious crusaders in forgotten corners of the earth were described to the Presbyterian national conference today by the Rev. Warren H. Wilson, director of the town and country department of the Presbyterian missions board. The Rev. Wilson said the church j had 300 pioneer preachers who brave the forests and prairies to follow homesteaders into new lands. Sessions of the conference will close today. Action is to be taken on a resolution offered by William Jennings i Bryan, vice moderator, urging a church fight on suicide and homi- ! eifle. "Paganized education," producing "spiritual illiteracy,” in the youth of! today was denounced in a resolution submitted by Dr. William Chalmers Covert. U. S. Lesh Gives Opinions Attorney General U. S. Lesh has held that county superintendents are employes of the county, not of school officials, and therefore do not have to qualify under the teachers • training and licensing laws of 1923, j which provide for licensing superin- ! tendents. Three years’ teaching ex- ' perience and a life or professional license is required, however, under 1921 laws.
