Mechanical Mothers! r T''HE representative Grade Making home may be known by its “mechanical mothers,” by the number and variety of electric and other appliances for saving the real mother’s strength and time which are on the job therein. The “mussy” man usually has a “mussy” home! Last year’s business-suit, any-old-overcoat, slipshod shoes, thread-bare carpet, back-breaking brooms and washtubs —somehow they all belong together. Presto! —change! Mark the vacuum cleaner, the wonderful elec-tric-“broom” that sweeps dust without raising any! See that handsome, well-groomed young mother going to the Club—on Monday, too —the week’s washing all done by a mechanical washing machine! The same house will have electric irons, electric toasters, broilers, boilers, and chafing dishes, electric heat-radiators and —psh! —electric curling irons! And as for RADIO! • Can you imagine a down-to-date home or apartment that cannot “listen in” to the home or distant entertainment or speeches? Fancy not being able to “tune in” with WHK, VVJAX, or WTAM! Just before Christmas is a mighty fine time for any man to make a mental inventory of his home —to “sell” himself on the importance of having his home (as well as his office or factory) fully equipped with time and labor-saving devices. 'Til tell the World!” comes with better grace from a man who also says “I’LL TELL MY WIFE!” on Christmas morning, that 1925 will find her home full of “mechanical mothei's!”
