Starting with a nucleus of 20.000 union steel workers, organized labor : .s going to launch another campaign to bring the 400,000 steel mill workers into ranks of the American federation of Labor. Campaign headquarters already nave been established in Cleveland, Bethlehem and Chicago. Michael F. REMY TO FIGHT POOLS Says He Will Curb Gambling When Charges Fail. “I will fight these baseball pools and other gambling schemes until a way is found to curb them,” declared Prosecutor William H. Remy as the case of Frank Kothe and Mrs. Nellie Wright, indicted on charges of operating a baseball pool, was ordered back to the grand jury by Criminal Judge James A. Collins. Judge Collins ruled that under -Supreme Court decisions he could not find the defendants guilty of the pool charges. Remy said it is probable charges of operating a lottery and gift enterprise will be returned. Evidence showed defendants had women manufacture hundreds of ticket books and sold them through agents. The skylark holds the altitude record among birds.
