CHUCK WIGGINS DENIED PAROLE Branch Approves All Pardon Board Recommendations. Governor Emmett F. Branch has refused a parole for Charles F. (Chuck) Wiggins, local pugilist, sentenced Sept. 18, 1922, to two to five years for escaping from the Indiana State Farm, where he had been sentenced on charges of contributing to delinquency, it was announced. Parole was also refused William E. Drake, who was sentenced in Criminal Court, May 25, 1923, for one to five years on the Indiana State Farm on charges of issuing a fraudulent check. Twenty-eight refusals were refused in all. Parole was granted John Price Hunter, who was sentenced in Criminal Court Feb. 14, 1924, to one tn. five years at the State Prison for possessing a still. Six other prisoners were paroled. This was the first pardon board report in which Governor Branch approved all of the parole recommendations. Permission was granted Gertrude Clark, sentenced in the local juvenile court Jan. 30, 1924. to 180 days at the Woman’s Prison and fined SSOO on charges of child neglect, was
