NEW PROSPERITY ERA ANTICIPATED BY BUSINESS MEN Stock Market Roused to Activity as Election Is Decided. By United Press NEW YORK, Nov. 6.—Under a flood of orders the stock market opened on a rising tide today, leading Industrials continuing the gains made Wednesday as result of business enthusiasm over the conservative victory in the national elections. With leaders in the financial district predicting a quick business revival and immediate nation-wide prosperity, “the street” was more active than it has been for three years. Bankers, industrial leaders and corporation presidents unanimously anticipate a great renewal of business activity. * Gary Confident Judge E. H. Gary of the United States S*t?el Corporation said: "Never before in the history of the world has any country had such an opportunity for advancement as the United States possesses just at this time. The fundamentals are here, the foundation has been laid. It is up to us, the people, to do our part. I trust the business men of this country will do their full part. “It is certain President Coolidge will measure up fully to his responsibilities. We have turfied the corner. This country will be an example and an inspiration.” J. W. .Davison, president of the Central Union Trust Company, agreed with Judge Gary, saying: “The election has removed uncertainty, stimulated confidence and left the way clear for business to go ahead on sound principles.” Reward for Country Earl Bapst. president of the American Sugar Refining Company, said: “The election clears the atmosphere. The country is entitled to a fine reward.” H. T. Parson, president of the W. W. Woolworth Company, said: “We can now look ahead to four years of good business without hesitancy.” Stock and curb markets here reacted promptly Wednesday. Sixteen million dollars worth of securities changed hands in the bond market. In the stock market leading industrials showed pronounced strength.

PUBLISHER, WELL KKOWNHERE, DIES Accident Is Fatal to George A. McClellan. Word has hen received in Indianapolis of the death of George A. McClellan, publisher of the St. Joseph Gazette and former Indianapolis newspaper man, in St. Joseph. Mo., of injuries received in an automobile accident Sunday. Mr. McClellan was general manager of the Indianapolis Sun, predecessor of the Indianapolis Times, in 1910-11. From 1903 to 1908, he lived in Indianapolis as manager of the Star League of Indiana newspapers. From 190S to 1911, he published the Dayton, (Ohio* Journal. After leaving Indianapolis the second time Mr. McClellan went to Florida, where he had purchased the Jacksonville Metropolis. Later he entered the magazine field in New York, where he was associated with "Today’s Housewife.” He,- went to St. Joseph. Mo., in 1923/ Surviving are the widow, the mother, who lives in Cedarville. Ohio: one son. Robert, now In South Africa: a brother. James J. of Joplin, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Walter Shank of Kansas City. FIRE IS INVESTIGATED Officials Probe Strange Blaze Upon Women’s Stories. Officials of the State fire marshalls office were busy today investigating what police and firemen say was an incendiary fire at the home of Mrs. Kate White, colored, 1228 N. Senate Ave. Mrs. White said she heard someone prowling around her home before she discovered the flame. Firemen said an inflamable material was placed against the rear of the house. Flames burned the window frame and wall before checked. Mrs. Lizzie Gee, a roomer, said she saw a man come out of yard. Autoist Is Sought Police are searching for the driver of an auto that was not stopped after striking Clarence Poindexter, colored, 812 N. Hospital Cheer Guild has subscribed for a SSOO bond. A similar bond was purchased by the Lotus Study Club of Indianapolis, it was announced. Ths mothers’ class, Central Avenue M. E. Sunday school, subscribed SSOO. The committe was informed that about one person in every 100 in Indiana had slubseribed to the fund and that an effort was being made in out counties to reach those who had not. subscribed. Money being raised in the bond sales will be used to construct new buildings. The Parent-Teacher Club of school No. 2 last night held its regular meeting at the hospital. Seventyfive members were in attendance and visited the hospital.
