SEARCH FOR CAR THAT KILLED BOY BEGUN BY POLICE Automobile Speeds on After Striking Meyer Hassler, 7, Sergeants O’Xeal and Smith and detectives today investigated all possible clews to the identity of a motorist who failed to stop Thursday night after striking Mever Hassler. 7. son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hassler. 3537 X. Paul F. Robinson began his investigation with police. Ernest Moore, 38, of 1615 X. Jefferson Ave., was slated Thursday night, charged with speeding, assault and battery and driving while intoxicated. Miss Lillian Xorman. -8, of 2006 Brookside Ave., was taken to the city hospital suffering from injuries to the head and body. Police said she was struck by Moore’s auto at Massachusetts Ave. and Lewis St., after alighting from a street car. Moore s wife and their two children, were In the car. Child Hurt Miss Irene Cowherd, colored. 2207 Tandes St., was injured about the body when she was struck by an auto, police said, which was driven by Leonard Kirch. 22, of ,33 Sanders St., at Michigan St. and Indiana Ave. Kirch was charged with speeding and assault and battery. Marjorie Grigsby. 5. of 3821 E Washington St., suffered a fractured left leg when sne was struck by a police auto driven by Detective John Giles, in front of her home. Detective Irick, with Giles, said the little girl ran from behind a parked car.

M’CULLOCH CITES INDORSEMENT OF DOLLINGS STOCK Republicans* Urged to Join With Democratic Party. Dr. Carleton B. McCulloch, Democratic candidate for Governor, speaking at Mishawaka, Ind., Thursday night, charged Ed Jackson was responsible for indorsement of the Dollings Company stock, through which thousands of Indiana stockholders lost millions of dollars. McCulloch urged Republican voters to cast their lot with the Democrats in cleaning house at the Statehouse. By means of a chart the nominee explained his plan for cutting the number of boards and commissions, consolidating and cutting down membership of others. Coffin, who wanted to check over the list, named by the Democratic county chairman by virtue of the “pole position” won in the last county election, filed the 3uit to compel commissioners to- make the list available. They had secreted the names for a month. Superior Judge Clinton H. Givan continued the mandamus action until Saturday, when if Coffin’s attorneys find the list satisfactory, the petition will be dismissed.
