Arlington Ave., a dairyman, died tooav shortly after the truck he wa* driving east on Twenty-First St. was struck by an in bound interurban Just eaat of Sherman Dr. Truck was completely demolished. Arc rding to Carl W. Pendegrast, tnotorman of Munde, Koopman apparently intended to stop at the crossing but started across as the interurban neared. Interurbhn was going not more than ten miles an hour. Per.degrast said. He said Koopman jumped just before tlio truck was hit. Deputy Coroner William Doeppors. who investigated, slated Pendegrast on involuntary manslaughter ch-arges. Dr. Matthew Winters, a graduate of Indiana University and Rush Medical College of Chicago, spoke on the “Biological Significance of the Pre-School Child.” - Miss Faye Henley, the director of the Orchard School, is chairman of the committee of the Indianapolis branch for study of the pre-school child and elementary education. Miss Henley has established four similar schools In large cities of the country. Dr. Mary N. Hatfield, president of the Indianapolis branch of the American Association of University Women, announced the appointment of Mrs. C. B. Dyer as chairman of the resolutions committee, and Mrs. Earl Lange as chairman of the auditing committee. Mrs. H. B. Pike was elected treasurer, at the last regular meeting on Oct. 22.
