Wheels will again will be set in motion for some kind of relief from condition of this street. If you have any kind of trouble with ihe city, let Mr. Fixit in on the controversey. He has helped others get needed improvements. Today's letters: DEAR MR. FIXIT—No attention has been given my complaint of Oct. 1 legarcUng Koehne St. from Roache to Twenty-Seventh St., which was torn up for repairs and not properly covered. Only one side of the street is passable. In the winter, this will become dangerous. Alice C. Thorne, 1510 W. Twenty-Seventh St. This complaint will be taken up again with officials in the street commlsioner's office and also with the chief street inspector. We’ll promise some kind of action to get you out of the mud. * * *

MR. FIXIT—I would like to find cut if there is any chance of getting Bates St., between Pine and Shelby St., improved. P. J. S. Xo petition for permanent improvement of this street is on rec ord at the board of works office. This is the first step if you want the street paved. Majority of property owners must present a petition to the board. * * 9 MR. FIXIT—Our residence is on X. Arlington Ave.. the last lot in the city limits, but the city does not collect our garbage. We are directly across from the Pleasant Run Golf Club, where the city Lies collect garbage. G. H. W. Your complaint has been referred to the superintendent of garbage collection who will see that your garbage is collected. * * MR. FIXI%—The alley between Bosart and Drexel Aves. south of Tenth St. is in terrible condition. We will be unable to use it this winter. Mr. Pfister. 946 Bosart Ave. Thomas Xewson, assistant street commissioner, is investigating whether any grade has been established on your alley. If a grade has been established, gravel will be placed in your alley.

HUNDREDS AITEND NOME EXPO Show Wiil Continue to Thursday Night, Interest of North Indianapolis residents centered around the second annual industrial exposition at Riverside dance palace, under auspices of the Better Business League of North Indianapolis, this week. Hundreds of persons attended the •pening of the exposition Tuesday night. Show will continue tonight and Thursday. Dr. O. E. Yater, general chairman, presided at the opening. Dan V. Goodman, publicity chairman, welcomed the visitors. Music and dancing were on the program. C. E. Smith, 2857 Highland PI., received a chest of silver. Other prizes will be given. Four community dentists maintained a health booth. BEDFORD BOYS MISSING Local Police Asked to Wat-ch for Trio Headed This Way. Chief of police at Bedford. Ind., today asked local police to watch for three boys who are missing from there. They are thought to be headed for Indianapolis. One of the hoys is Harry Fields, 15, who is large for his age. They left in an automobile. Names of the other two are not known. Mrs. Thomas Cummins. 1114 E. Michigan St., asked police to find her three children, all boys, ages 8. 11 and 12, who were taken from their home by their father, Thomas Cummins.

McCulloch this afternoon paid a tribute to the higher institutions of learning at De Pauw University. “There is too much pessimism stalking about the country today. Even if we have our problems and annoyances, they are on their way toward solution. "Our schools and'our great universities are the nurseries of progressive thought and of true patriotism, and it is a matter of pride to remember that ,Indiana stands so high on the roster of States. It speaks well fro our citizens when we remember that in the late war the State cf Indiana led the whole United States in the number of volunteers who entered the Army proportionate to our population. I hope we may never take a backward step in regard to our school systems of today, or the proper support of our universities. McCulloch, Democratic gubernatorial nominee, took occasion to speak of the important part the miners played in industrial conditions, and of the heavy toll taken from their ranks by hazardous underground work. He stated the Democratic party was responsible for the greater part of the legislation now on the statute books toward accident prevention. “I believe, the Democratic I arty believes, that labor is honorable. I believe the worker should have a voice in the making of the laws that govern his conduct, the same as those who do not work. It is the duty of the workingman to assert himself in the politics of th* State and the Nation.
