BOOM IS PLANNED BY L WASHINGTON Merchants to Stage Publicity Stunt Campaign, A newspaper advertising and a publicity stunt campaign to draw attention to the E. Washington St. shopping district is planned by the E. Washington St. Merchants Association. Plans were discussed at a quarterly dinner at the Chamber of Commerce, attended by seventy-five members, Tuesday evening. The association will back a movement to reroute College cars south in Delaware and north in Alabama Sts., and will urge modern lighting of New Jersey St. between Washington St. and Massachusetts Ave. The merchants express dissatisfaction with enforcement of regulations upon the curb market in Washington between Alabama and Delaware Sts. They stated they do not oppose location of legitimate producers in the section, but object to abuses of the privilege.

Ambulances were rushed to a spot near Babylon, N. Y„ where, it was reported, lay the “mutilated body of a man.” As surgeons reached the body, it arose, yawned and asked, "How far Is it to Patchogue?” Aroused by reports of youthful drinking parties, Albion, (Mich.) police have announced the curfew lavAwill be strictly enforced. Neglectful Va rents will be punished. One bullet drilled three holes in Robert Turner, 12, of Chicago. The bullet, from a mysterious source, passed through his chin, cut off a finger and buried itself in his left foot. The first cold snap of the fall cost Alexander Bexter, 82, of New Orleans, La., his life. Bexter told members of his family he was going to sit in the sun to thaw out. He fell asleep and sparks from a corn cob pipe in his mouth ignited his clothing. Physicians say his burns may prove fatal. Check Charge Filed Miss Frances Hottel. 20, of 941 N. Meridiem St., is under arrest today charged with issuing a fraudulent check. She was arrested Tuesday by operatives of the Quigley-Hyland Detective Agency who alleged that Miss Hottel on Sept. 26 gave the L. S. Ayres Company a check for $84.5u in payment of a dress. A further investigation is being made, operatives said.

Mrs. Riney Lemons, 58, is reported missing by her son-in-law, Ernest Mann, 1901 Hovey St., at whose home she lived. Mann gave police the name of Mrs. Lemons’ employer, who, he said, has not been seen since the Jinan’s disappearance. Mrs. Ida Sheets, Madison, Ind., wife of Archie A. Sheets, 43, wrote police she believed her husband is in Indianapolis with their son, Ray Sheets, 15, and another woman and three children. She said she tracked him in Madison until the family left there.
