FATHERS TC JOIN SCHOOL WRANGLE Meet Tonight to Protest Transfer of Pupils, Fathers of children transferred from School 58 to 82 will meet tonight at the home of Elmer C. Marshall. 824 X. Gladstone Ave., to join in the demand made by the motehrs Wednesday that children oe returned to School 58. John F. Levendecker, attorney. 423 Indiana Trust Bldg., is heading the protest. His children, he says, are forced to walk a mile and a half to School 82, although en route they go within two blocks of School 58. Leyendecker said that his physician had ordered a warm dinner for his son and for the boy to walk three miles at noon was too much of a physical task. D. T. Weir, assistant school superintendent. has defended the transfer on the grounds that it will'do away with half-day schools at So. 58. Improvements Provided County council today passed an appropriation of s3B,onn for additions to the new colored orphans home.
