CIVIC JUBILEE GREAT SUCCESS Large Attendance at Brightwood Affair, Brightwood housewives were happily engaged early today in sweeping away the debris caused by the ‘'civic jubilee” held on Station St., between Roosevelt Ave. and TwentyFifth St. Wednesday night. Mrs. Anna Robeson, secretary, estimated that more than 1,000 persons participated. A barber, baker and fruit dealer were awarded prizes for the best decorated business houses. They are: Omer W. Stump, barber, 2341 Station St., first prize: Albert J. Suhre, fruit dealer. 2436 Station Et., second, and William Shoemaker, baker, 2354 Station St. Residences of the following persons were awarded prizes for being the best decorated: Mrs. William Kirk, 2530 Station St., first; Mrs. Charles Bingle, second, and Mrs. Wiiliam Perry. 2440 Station St., third. Dr. Thomas O'Dell, 2423 Station St, won a ton of coal in a guessing contest. Other features were a boxing match, games, dancing and concert by the Police and Firemen's Band. The Rev. Ray A. Ragsdale, pastor of Brightwood M. E. Church, delivered a short address on ‘'Civic Pride." Event was to celebrate the completion of 100 squares of permanent paved streets and sidewalks in Brightwood. AUTOS IN COLLISION Girl Pedestrian Struck at Madison Ave. and Ray St. Miss Mary Tenner, 16, of 334 Sanders St., was at her home today suffering from injuries received when she was struck by a machine driven by Hobart King, 617 E. McCarty St., as she was crossing Madison Ave. and Ray St. Wednesday. King was slated. Other accidents Wednesday: Cars owned by Elmer Mitchell, 216 S. Holmes Ave.. and James Fros*. Greenfield, Ind.. collided at Ray St. and Capitol Ave. Both men were slightly cut. Both were slated. Oscar Tribby, 536 S.
