INJURES FATAL TO BOY STRUCK BY AUTOMOBILE Herbert McClune, 3, Runs in Path of Machine Near Home. Herbert McCune. 3. son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth McCune, 870 W. Twenty-Ninth St., died at the city hospital early today from injuries received Wednesday when he was run over by an automobile in front of his home. ' According to police the lad started across the street around a machine to get into his uncle's auto and stepped directly in the path of a machine driven by Adolph Frey of Edwardsville, 111. Returning From Wedding Frey, driving Mr. and Mrs. George Krotzendorf. 1156 Eugene St., who had just been married at the Holy Angels Church, Twenty-Ninth St. and Northwestern Ave., will be restated on an involuntary manslaughter charge. Mrs. Hans Karstadt. 40. of 1449 N. Illinois St., and William Mitchell, 24. of 5356 E. Washington St., are suffering from injuries received Wednesday when the truck driven by Williams and Mrs. Karstadt's machine collided at Berkeley Rd. and Capitol Ave. Both drivers were held on assault and battery charges. Small Child Injured Harold Donnery. 20, of 2312 N. Capitol Ave., is held on charges of speeding and assault and battery after the truck he was driving struck and injured MaryDD r yer. 4, of 960 Kealing Ave., at Ewing and Tenth Ste. Gus Ernsberger. 411 N. Pine St., is held on an assault and battery charge after the true'* he was driving struck and injured a man who gave his name as Bert Sullivan, at Pennsylvania and Ohio St.. THIEVES ESCAPE AT TWO HOMES Women Surprise Burglars at Work, Two burglers. surprised in houses, escaped during the night. Mrs. Tillie Seifert, 3122 N. Capitol Ave., saw a light flash through a door. She screamed and her sister, Mrs. Joseph Reiser and Charles P. De Vess, a roomer, ran to her room. The burglar dashed downstairs. Silver, valued at SIOO, was stolen. When Mrs. E. A. Beckman, 1502 E. Kejly St., and her daughter returned home they saw a man run from one room to another, they told police. Officers said they found all the doors locked and no man within.
