HEALING POWER ' OPEN TO ALL IN SCIENCECHURCH Chicago Lecturer Speaks at Noon Meeting at Keith’s Theater. “One of the distinctive features of Christian Science is the fact that the power to heal and regenerate mankind is open to all.” said Richard J. Davis, C. S., of Chicago, 111., In a lecture at noon today at Keith's Theater, under auspices of the Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Indianapolis. He was introduced by Miss Kate C. Cox. “This healing power is yours today. It belongs to no privileged class. It is true that there are thousands of consecrated men and women who are devoting their lives to the ministry or practice of healing as taught in Christian Science, but today any one of you, earnestly seeking Truth, may commence the study of Christian Science and its actual practice, tip to your highest light. “May Begin Today” “Today you may begin to approximate the understanding of Christian Science and apply it in your life and the problems of your daily living. Do you believe It blasphemous to assume the right and power to heal as Jesus did? “Do you believe that Christian Scientists are assuming too much in their loving endeavor to lift the heavy burdens of their brothers and let the oppressed go free? Shall Christian Scientists be criticised for their effort to completely fulfill the injunction of the Master to heal the sick? "Are we so remote from God, so separated in belief? Have they taken away our Lord that we know not where they have laid him? “No Reason to Marvel” “People strangely marvel at what they call miraculous manifestations of divine power. But why should they marvel? Should it surprise us to see concrete evidence of that one omnipotent God who governs the universe and man in perfect harmony and order? “The works of healing and regeneration seem incredible only because humanity has continued on its sorrowing. suffering way in ignorance of its Redeemer. The operation of God’s law should seem the most natural thing on earth to us.” BOYS DRINK MULE Three Lads Uncover Liquor Secreted on Vacant Lot to Police. TEDDY ‘AT HOME' IN SCHOOL ROOM Third Day Finds First Grader Thoroughly Alive to Possibilities for Fun,
(Miss Ruby Weil of The Times staff is going to school * with Teddy Scott this week to find out what happens to a small boy just beginning his education.) By RUBY WEIL Mr. Sparrow provided an unexpected lesson for Teddy Scott, 2002 NT. Alabama St., and his classmates in the IB at School No. 45, TwentyThird St. and Park Ave., Wednesday, their third day of school. Just after recess, while the youthful scholars were having a rest period, Mr. Sparrow suddenly made his appearance in the room. No one knew just where he had come from, but Miss Lillian Bohnstadt, the teacher, thought he had flown In a window. Around and around flew Mr. Sparrow. He perched on a window, frightened and uncertain of the way out. Finally Miss Bornstadt caught him. Holding him gently ,she took him up one aisle and down the other. while the children petted his head lightly and “Oh-ed:” and Ah-ed!” Then she held him out of the window and let him fly away. Fully Recovered Teddy had regained full use of his leg, which he hurt while turning somersaults Tuesday night, so he walked to school with Eugene, his 8-year-old brother, and me. We were accompanied all the way by Buck, the Scotts’ airedale. who just would not turn back, no matter whut pleas we made. “Buck, you can't go to school: you’re only ten months old.” Teddy told him. But Buck trotted right along. When we reached school. Buck found another dog to play with, and we slipped inside without him. Bobby Jackson. 1936 N. Delaware St., Teddy's special school chum, was on hand. I had a taste of being teacher, when Miss Bohnstadt called to a teachers' meeting. Some of the forty pupils even called me “teacher.” making me feel most important, but not helping me keep them quiet. They built houses of blocks ;they played with colored pegs: they

wrote and drew all over the blackboard. A few of them, much to my relief, looked at pictures and books. And all of them talked, talked, talked, so that only an “At-ten-tion,” said In almost tone Miss Bohnstadt used, had any effect on them. New Game Learned After about fifteen minutes, the real teacher came back and soon the boys and girls were learning anew game. Teddy had his first recess. Tuesday he could not go outside because of his injured leg. Today he played “Cat and Mouse” with the others. After recess and the sparrow “lesson” came a drawing lesson. Then some Mother Goose rhymes, to end the third day. Teddy was feeling very much “at home,” so much so, in fact, that Miss Bohnstadt "called him down” s eve raj times. Bobby, too, twisted around in his seat every few minutes, to see that all was well with his friend Teddy. They had a good time, but "teacher” didn-’t. 2 CARD OF THANHS CARD OF THANKS—We wish to express our many thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbors for kindness ami sympathy shown ns in the sudden death of our beloved son.
