MILITARY BODIES LEND COOPERATION FOR DEFENSE DAT Chairman Sims Declares Plans Are Delayed by Vacations.^ Additional offers of cooperation in the Defense Day celebration. Sept. 12, have been received by Fred A. Sims. Seventh District chairman. The Marion County chapter of Rainbow Division veterans, has indorsed the test and offered asistance. Rainbow men o flndianapolis and Marion County will participate in the parade. An offer also was received from the National Citizens' Military Training Camp Association. The association has a membership of about SOO in this county. Robert B. Hurt of .Indianapolis is commanding colonel of Indiana. The organization is composed of men who have attended citizens’ military training camps. Completion of the organization throughout the State has been delayed by absence of large numbers of persons interested in the movement on their vacations. In nine districts all county chairmen have been named. In other districts, there are a number of vacancies. Selection of a chairman for the executive committee in Marion County will be left to the committee, Sims said. Appointment of the committee will be followed by selection of a secretary and a marshal for the parade. NC REQUEST RECEIVED Lieber Says White River Water Should Be Examined. The city has had no request to examine water in White River or Fall Creek. J. R. Dunwoody, city chemist, said today. Richard Lieber, director of the State department of conservation, said steps should be taken immediately to prevent further pollution in these streams at an address recently before Indianapolis realtors. The city affairs committee of the real estate board is now investigating.

Mrs. Margaret Allman of Canton, Ohio, is not only acting as member of the national finance committee of the Democratic party but is waging a campaign as a candidate for State Representative. She is a widow and the j mother of four children. EX-DRAGON IS SUED “Old Man” Allege* to Have Refused to Pay $3,500. Alleging D. C. Stephenson refused to pay a balance of $3,500 due on fifty shares in the Hoosier Tailors, Inc., Herbert E. Wilson, receiver for the corporation, has entered suit against the ex-dragon of the Indiana j Klan. Stephenson refused payment I after the receivership was instituted, I Wilson says in the complaint. MAN AND WIFE HELD Operating Blind Tiger, Drunkenness and Profanity Charged. William Hitchcock, 619 N. East j St., is held on charges of operating a blind tiger and disorderly conduct \ and his wife. Mrs. Mabel Hitchcock. 411 E. Ohio St., is charged witn drunkenness and profanity. Police said they found a halt-pint of mule at Hitchcock's home. The Hitchcocks are said to be estranged. Offices to Be Consolidated The United States Veterans Bureau will establish an office in Indianapolis Jan. 1. consolidating the present offices at South Bend and Evansville, according to John H. Ale. district manager. A State rating board also will be established to pass on claims hitherto sent to Columbus, Ohio.
