CIVIC COMPLAINTS LOST IN SHUFFLE, MIL IT FINDS Papers Found Stored Away in Files at City Hall — Questions Answered, P| ETITIOXS for improvements of streets and alleys are often J misplaced in the mass of resolutions in the engineer's office. Papers ordered by the board of works in February and March were found to be stored away in city fjles. Complaints to Mr. Fixit of resolutions ordered “long ago" with no action resumed in investigation. “William H. Freeman of the board of works has ordered papers completed immediately and resolutions speeded up for bids. Here is what Mr. Fixit found: Sidewalks were petitioned for on St. Clair St. between La Salle and Tuxedo Sts., and were ordered in. But that is the last heard of it. Also weeds on the south side of St. Glair St. certainly are an eyesore. H. O. Kuhn, 3322 E. St. Clair St. Referred to Engineer Board of works records show this resolution was referred to the engineer March 7. and papers ordered March 14. The resoluiton will be ordered completed immediately, so bids can be advertised. DEAR MR. FIXIT—AII the folks on Madison Ave. between Raymond and Southern Ave. signed a petition for a sidewalk and curb on this street. We have to walk on the roadway or through mud over our shoe tops. At ] the engineers' office it was said the matter of resetting poles was hold- j ing up the improvement.
