SHERIFF PROBES DEATHTHREATS Farmer Warned Wounded Man Seeks Revenge, Sheriff George Snider today was investigating reported death threats made against Walter Haus, R. R. C, Box 227. Mrs. Henry C. Haus. 602 N. Rj*bolt St., mother of Walter, asked city police to investigate, who in turn referred the case to the sheriff. According to Mrs. Haus. her son on July 10 fired at a man whom he caught prowling around his home. The next day. two young men came to Haus' house to inquire about the shooting and told him that he had wounded one of their friends and that as soon as he recovered there “woulfl be a killing." Haus said he did not know who the two men were. GERMANY FLIES COLORS Railroads Compel Employes to Wear Emblems. i BERLIN. July 12.—The German republic is remembering at last that it has its own colors. As the first organization, the railroads have ordered that their employes wear on their caps the official colors of the country —black, red and gold. Heretofore it was left to the officials to wear whatever “cocarde” •they wanted, and most of them had stuck to their old blue-white, greenwhite and what other colors their respective provinces had previously flown. Incidentally, the Reichstag will soon have to deal with a motion of Eolksparty demanding that the oIA black-white and red be reinstated as the country's official colors.
