MM PRIZE HANDSHAKERAT NEW YORK SHOW Tom Walsh of Montana and ‘Old Bill’ Bryan Also Attract Attention. By FRANK J. TAYLOR. Times Staff Correspondent. , NEW YORK, June 23.—Anions those present at the Democratic show no man is more of a magnet than McAdoo, the Californian. Early morning until late at night McAdoo's suite draws an endless * stream of visitors. "M” as they are calling him, is fortified on the top floor of a fashionable hotel. His private suite is that of the late Enrico Caruso. It is much too fine for a Democrat, a fact which McAdoo’s aids recognize and reveal by their apologies. as soon as one enters. McAdoo does not take time for apologies. He is too busy commanding his forces and in greeting his friends. He is one lean, cordial human dynamo. He's happiest when greeting folks. The Lord endowed him with a glad hand. Always, he is hearty and fresh and smiling. His memory for faces and names is the admiration of nis camp. About every two minutes he greets anew group of visitors.

And the women, they think he's the finest thing ever. He's a handsome young gallant with the women, for all his 60 years he's for the ladies and they are for him after two minutes’ contact with his smile and his Southern grace. The fellow everybody’s wanted to see was Tom Walsh of Montana—he who drove out of Washington “Wild Alkali” A1 Fall of New Mexico. They were looking for a big Western fellow with heavy eyebrows and walrus mustache, one with two guns and a sombrero. They wen disappointed. When Walsh hove into the Waldorf Astoria Sunday night he looked like he had just stepped out of a Fifth Avenue band box, with his natty grey suit, his neatly trimmed mustache, his smooth manner. They just didn’t go with the- picture most of the delegates had conjured up when they tnought of Senator Walsh of Montana. Men said, "That can't be Walsh,” and women said. "Oh,” and that's all. But Walsh packed his wallop to the convention for all his nattiness.
To the East. Democrats came from North and West, and South, and not the least was “Old Bill'’ Bryan, as they call him affectionately. Bryan may be a bygone Democratic power, but he is as earnest as ever. Bryan has something to discuss earnestly with every one. He begins at breakfast and discusses all day in the lobby. He is perhaps the most button-holed Democrat of them all. He came to New York with his same old black alpaca suit, his same shaggy black locks. What's he discussing? Search me. Bryan doesn'': talk to newspapers. He's one himself, combining business with pleasure while he’s here. Bryan may be a has-been, but he’s still a factor as long as Democrats shake their heads and say: “Bryan? You can't tell what he'll do. He'll probably heave a bomb into the convention before it's over.” And he. may, too. is not the man to dis appoint the rabble. Driver Is Released Luther Beach, 3515 N.
