KLANSMEN STATE PREFERENCES IN DEMOCRATIC SLATE Purported Resolution Carries Name of Olin R. Holt to Governor, That the Ku-Klux Klan will play a prominent part in the Democratic State convention was made known today when Klaverns over the State, in a letter said to have come from Klan headquai ters. were asked for their preference of candidates for State office. The slates generally favor Olin R. Holt. Kokomo, for Governor, with a few slating Senator Joseph Cravens, Madison, according to information. Other candidates: J. Li. Strange, Marion, Lieutenant Governor; Perry Rule. Bringhurst, secretary of State: Robert Bracken, State auditor; Perry Easton, Sanborn, treasurer of State; Pleasant Hightower, superintendent of public instruction; Charles O. Brown. Logahsport, and John C. Etzold, Indianapolis, reporter Supreme Court; Wilson D. Lett, Marion, judge of Supreme Court Fourth district. A resolution purported to have been adopted by the Nathan Hale Klan No. 11, Kokomo, indorses Holt for Governor. The resolution says he is a member of the Hale Klan. These names are said to be signed

Robert Bracken, auditor of State, today declared he knew nothing of the alleged Klan slate. Six Indianapolis residents have been summoned to appear before the grand jury which is to investigate the fatal shooting of John Osborne at his home in Smithland. Charles Snyder is being held in connection with tty, shooting. The six persons were said to have been at the Osborne home when the shooting occurred. *

MURDER TRIAL HALTED Judge to Decide Saturday on Alleged Henry Confession. Bp Times Special SHELBYVILLE, Ind., May 30. Judge H C. Morrison will announce Saturday whether an alleged confession can be offered as evidence in the trial of Charles E. Henry, colored, Indianapolis, charged with fatal shooting of Jess Louden, Indianapolis policeman. A day and a half examination has been held to determine competency of the alleged confession. Henry charged he was threatened and beaten, and repudiated the statement. Detectives said he confessed voluntarily. Court was not in session today. Girl Hobo Jailed Bu Times Special FT.
