CENTENNIAL FETE HELD IN DANVILLE Indianapolis Band Takes Part in Celebration, The Police and Firemen's Band of fifty pieces left early today for Danville, Ind., to participate in an allday Hendricks County centennial celebration. Mayor Shank, James M. Ogden, city attorney, and other city officials were to attend the festivities. Early reports indicated a crowd of between 12.000 and 15,000. A 500pound centennial cake contained 10$ candles. Features were an historical par rade, a “pitch-in" picnic dinner, a pageant, and a music recital at Central Normal College. DR. Smith was sentenced to life Imprisonment Thursday night after a jury found him guilty of slaying Mrs. Francis Sweet; 73, his grandmother. The aged woman was shot in the head and buried in Smith’s barnyard. A chicken house with a concrete foundation was built over the grave.
