CHURCHES WISH CHANGE IN SITE •FOR WAR BUILDING Would Erect Memorial-Near Michigan St, Instead of Near Vermont, Dissatisfaction with the World War Memorial commission's plans for placing the main memorial building was expressed by representatives of the Second Presbyterian and First Baptist Churches today, following a conference with the commission Thursday. The commission announced the churches would not be removed. The present plans indicate that the principal memorial building will be constructed immediately north of the churches and that the south entrance wtfl include terraces and steps leading down to Vermont St. between the churches. Would Change Site The church committees wish some adjustment made in the plans whereby the two churches wfU become a harmonious part of the scheme rath er than discordant notes. Erection of the principal building north of Michigan St. was suggested. Frank R. Walker, one of the plaza architects, read a report made previously to the commission in which recommended that the scheme be cepted as a whole and that no
