POLICE SEEKING MISSING GIRL Man Arrested in Disappearance of Young Woman, Detectives today questioned Earl Carmichael. 22, of 1037 W. Michigan St., in an attempt to learn the whereabouts of Stella Crosby, 19, of Cincinnati, who left home a month ago. Edward Crosby, the girl’s father, appeared at headquarters * with a telegram sent from Indianapolis, supposedly by his daughter, asking for money to come home and saving she was ill. The telegraph company gave the police the address of Mrs M. Perry, 120 W. Fourteenth St. as the address for an answer to he delivered. Police say Carmichael borrowed money from Mrs. Perry to send a telegram and asked her to accept an answer. Carmichael refused to admit any knowledge of the girl. RACE DRIVER, IN CRASHJMPROVED Fengler’s Condition Not Serious, Doctors Say, Harlan Fengler, 23, “boy speed king." who narrowly escaped death Thursday when the Wade Special he was driving crashed into the retaining wall at the northwest turn of the Speedway, was resting easy today at St. Vincent Hospital.
