HOUSE 10 VOTE JAPEXCLUSION Action on Bill Is Scheduled Today. By Unitei Press WASHINGTON, May 15.—Japanese exclusion, effective July 1 this year, was scheduled to come up in the Ifcuse today for a final vote. After its adoption by the House it will go to the Senate and then the completed bill goes to the President. Majority Leader Longworth, who led the fight when t l '- previous report was before the House to postpone the date to March' 1 of next year, said he did not think a motion to re-open that question would be offered. Yesterday the President called to the White House leaders of both parties for what was understood to be a last futile attempt to secure postponement of the exclusion dates.

A Puzzle a Day

A man, a woman and a boy, weighing 195, 105 and 90 pounds, re.spectively. were at the top of a high wall. Their only meafis of escape was a rope which passed over a pulley, with a basket at each end, and arranged so that when one basket was at the top of the wall, the other was at the bottom. Naturally', if one basket were more heavily loaded than the other, the heavier would descend, but if the excess were more than 15 pounds, the descent would be too rapid. On top of the wall was a leaden weight, of 75 pounds, -which could be used as a counter-balance. How did they manage to reach the ground? HONOR STUDENTS ARE GIVEN GUPS Exercises Are Held at Shortridge High School. The members of the Honor Roll at Shortridge High School were .formally recognized at an exercise held at the school, Wednesday. The three girls, Marylee Orloff, Margaret Woessner and Mary Emily Starr, of the senior class who had perfect records all through high school, were given silver loving cups by the members of the junior class.
